About the Artist
Howie (H.C.) Noel is an award-winning professional illustrator and caricaturist whose clients include T-Mobile, CBS Radio, Troopers United Foundation, Cryptozoic, TAPS, Image Comics imprint Shadowline, Devil’s Due, and numerous independent comic and graphic novel contributions.
Born on Long Island, NY and raised in Pennsylvania, Howie always drew. From an early age, he had a strong conviction to become a cartoonist, drawing Dick Tracy, Garfield and Bloom County endlessly. In high school Noel created his first comic strip, The Boonies, published in the school paper. After graduating with honors from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY Howie wrote and illustrated his first graphic novel, Mr. Scootles, published in 2008. This was followed by consecutive successful Kickstarters for Noel’s Tara Normal webcomic and book series and Float, an autobiographical memoir about living with generalized anxiety disorder.
H.C.’s current projects are the Dick Tracy Rogues’ Gallery, Clew detective comic strip and The Salesman - an original comic dedicated to his later father Howard.
